Kate Womersley

Kate trained in West Yorkshire for 17 years in all aspects of theatre dance. This includes ballet, tap and modern jazz. Kate is also experienced in freestyle, street, jazz, and contemporary dance. Before entering Higher Education, she was twice nominated modern jazz awards.

Kate has gained performer's certificates in ballet, tap and modern jazz. She possesses almost seven years of experience teaching children from the ages 5-18, that includes leading workships in primary schools.

At the University of York, Kate was Chair of the University Ballet Society for two years, where she choreographed succesfully rewarded ballet pieces for the Edinburgh University Dance-off.

Kate's undergraduate dissertation specialised in Early Modern Dance. She is currently gathering teaching experience and holds two ballet teaching qualifications.

Kate has choreographed a number of cabaret acts at the University of York. She has also choreographed annual school shows, festivals, charity concerts and worked on student-audition pieces.

Kate was a regular performer and competitor in dance festivals until 2004.
